Miss Universe Zimbabwe is the official preliminary that selects a representative to the Miss Universe pageant. The contestants represent the 10 provinces of the nation of Zimbabwe including all Zimbabwean nationals living in the diaspora. Zimbabwe was last on the Miss Universe stage 22 years ago and after this 22-year hiatus Zimbabwe is set for an epic comeback.

The vision of Miss Universe Zimbabwe is to build potential and capacity for young women. Miss Universe Zimbabwe is a platform to empower young women to be the voice of the voiceless, share issues of concern and enhance women’s skills in community development and empowerment through humanitarian service.
Miss Universe Zimbabwe comes at a time when Zimbabwe had been long waiting to send a representative to Miss Universe. The Miss Universe directorship was under Yvette DAlmeida Miss Universe Zimbabwe 1994. In 1996 Langelihle Sibanda was Miss Universe Zimbabwe. In 2001 Tsungai Muswerakuenda became the last Zimbabwean representative on the Miss Universe stage. In 2000 Correne Cewe placed top 10 in the Miss Universe Competition. She also received the Hoya Crystal Trophy as second runner-up in the National Costume Competition during the Presentation Show for the 2000 Miss Universe Pageant
The leading national beauty pageant in Zimbabwe Miss Zimbabwe Queen that would send representatives to Miss International, Miss Intercontinental and Top Model of the world competitions has made the pageant exclusive only to sending a representative to Miss Universe under the new stage name Miss Universe Zimbabwe. The Miss Zimbabwe Queen pageant was directed and founded by former Miss Zimbabwe 2014 who took part in Miss World in 2014.and won Miss Intercontinental Africa in 2015 at Miss Intercontinental.
Tendai Hunda also runs one of the country’s leading modeling agencies named Hundah. Tendai codirected Miss Zimbabwe Queen with Hildah Mabu a former model who took part in Top Model of the World, Miss Supranational and Miss Tourism Queen. The goal was to however send a represent Zimbabwe to Miss Universe. After a long wait Miss Tendai Hunda applied for the Miss Universe license and history was made as Zimbabwe was accepted back on the Miss Universe stage after 22 years. Miss Universe Zimbabwe will now for the first time in 22 send a representative to Miss Universe.

Tendai Hunda is the new president of the Miss Universe franchise and the official national director. Tendai is Miss Zimbabwe 2014 and took part in Miss World where she placed top 20 top model of world relay event.
Tendai Hunda took part in Miss intercontinental in 2015 in Magdeburg Germany where she placed fifth and crowned miss intercontinental Africa. After her active participation in Pageantry Tendai set out to send various young girls to Miss Intercontinental Ant Top Model of the world. From 2017 till date she has actively been sending representatives to Miss Intercontinental and top model of the world.
In 2022 a new addition Miss International was added to the international pageants she would send representatives to. This new addition created the new brand name Miss Zimbabwe Queen which was a stage to crown various titleholders for various international beauty pageants. In 2022.
Tendai applied for the Miss Universe license as this was her long awaited vision for the Zimbabwean modeling industry. in in April 2023 the license for Miss Universe Zimbabwe was granted and Tendai becomes the national director and president of the Miss Universe Zimbabwe franchise making her the second ever director after Yvette D Almeida Chakras Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2014. Tendai also runs a beauty salon and spa and of the country’s leading modeling agencies named Hundah which offers social and business etiquette consultancy and moiling training and placements. Tendai is also a holder of a bache3lords degree in administration with the university of Zimbabwe.

Rumbidzai is the Director of MedEsther Brands PR, which is a diversified multi-media company specializing in turn-key solutions in public relations and corporate communications, marketing communications, broadcast media, corporate social investment and philanthropy, leisure and entertainment.
As the Director of MedEsther Brands (Pvt) Ltd, she conducts media training, offers marketing and communications strategies, is a Director of Ceremonies, Panel Moderator and has a mentorship programme for young girls, disadvantaged adolescents and orphans. MedEsther Brands also handles media productions for online and mainstream media and manages events for different organisations
